COVID-19 PREPAREDNESS + RESPONSE EFFORTS

Continental takes the health and safety of our employees very seriously. In response to the spread of COVID-19 a respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus, the Company has developed this COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan (“Plan”) as part of our efforts to reduce the potential for exposure to and spread of the coronavirus. This Plan is based on information available from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“OSHA”), and the State of Michigan and is subject to change based on further guidance from these and other public health agencies.

Continental has established a team of Executive Leadership, Human Resources, Procurement, and key Leaders of all lines of business to monitor and prevent the spread and impact of COVID-19. This team regularly reviews updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”), World Health Organization (“WHO”), U.S. Food & Drug Administration (“FDA”), and other trustworthy sources of information to ensure we are proactively adapting our policies and procedures, preparing for the broader impact this virus may bring to our community, and reacting in real-time to the ever-changing landscape of this unprecedented situation.

This has been a difficult time for everyone and reestablishing a workplace where employees feel comfortable performing their jobs safely is a multi-faceted challenge.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 spread across Michigan, our employees have played a crucial role in feeding frontline Essential Services and Health System Workers. We want to thank these selfless frontline workers, and our dedicated team for everything they’ve done to support the crisis response efforts serving our community, you are true heroes! 

We wanted to let you know that we have implemented many new policies to help protect both our team members and our guests. Following all CDC guidelines, we have implemented the following changes to decrease opportunities for cross-contamination: 

  • Daily health screenings for every employee entering work Implementation of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), including Masks, Disposable Gloves, and Face Shields 
  • Continuing to follow our long-standing food safety program ensuring the safest high-quality meals for employees 
  • Distancing measures set-up for culinary team members to work a minimum of 6ft. apart 
  • Employee updates and communications surrounding new safety measures 
  • Regular fogging/cleaning of all storage, delivery vehicles, offices, and warehouses 
  • Working closely with our clients to update services for our guests, in order to provide the highest level of safety 

As we continue to work through the ever-changing guidelines surrounding COVID-19, we will continue to evolve our processes to meet the needs of our clients and team members.
